Sunday week ago, at Wally Tew Reserve, Lysterfield won the toss and put FTG in to bat in the semi final. We lost wickets at 12 (Kranzbuhler) and 23 (Jacobson) before Dale Harris and Shane Richardson put on a good partnership that saw the score reach 85 before the loss of the next wicket. Richo made 13 and Dale Harris brought up his 44* retired with a six. Wickets then fell at 93 (Reed), 102 (Purdham), 116 (Anstey) and 136 (Catalano for a well made 35). Adam Grant (12*) and Dean Manning (5*) added a partnership of 15 runs in quick time to have FTG 7/151cc from our 36 overs.

FTG then bowled really well, taking wickets at regular intervals and never really giving Lysterfield a sniff of victory bowling them out for 89 in 29.5 overs. Neil Purdham 0/14 off 6, David Anstey 1/10 off 6, Adam Grant 3/23 off 6, James “Spider” Morris 3/10 off 6, Darren Jacobson 0/7 off 1, Jace Austin 3/13 off 3 and Shane Richardson 0/10 off 2. Stuart Kranzbuhler starred behind the stumps with four catches, Shane Richardson took two catches and Hayden Hosking took the final catch to take the team into a Grand Final.

The Grand Final will be played this coming Sunday February 25 at Wally Tew 1 against Mt Gate starting at 12:30pm. Come along and support the team as they strive for the ultimate glory. Food and drinks will be available from the canteen. Hope to see you there!
