Josh Henry has organised the “Gully Blues Day at the Dogs” for Sunday November 17.

A bus will pick you (and your family and friends) up from the WH Tew Reserve in time to get you to Sandown for the first race (2pm). Upon arrival, all Ladies will receive a complimentary glass of champagne. All guests will receive a $10 betting voucher. Finger food will also be provided. You will be able to enjoy the first class facilities on offer as you watch 12 races live at the venue. Drinks will be available at bar prices. There is a child friendly area with activities. A bus will then return you back to WH Tew Reserve at 6pm. All of this for just $25. Payment for this event must be pre-purchased by paying $25 per head to either Josh Henry, Wayne Pretty, Ron Richards or Dean Glare. The first 57 people to pay will be on bus 1. We then need another 33 people to ensure that bus 2 operates. So gather up your family and friends for what will be a fun “Gully Blues Day at the Dogs”. First in best dressed.

The day will be part of the the Sandown Greyhounds 2013 All Club Challenge. On the day there will be 7 other clubs in attendance. The FTGCC will receive a $50 Trifecta voucher and all 8 clubs will draw a different dog each during the day to represent each club in the All Club Challenge Race. If our dog wins the race the FTGCC will win $1000 and club members will have a photo opportunity on the winner’s dias with the FTGCC winning dog. There is also prizemoney for clubs whose dogs run a place. Also, one person on the day from one of the 8 clubs in attendance will be selected to spin the Sandown Super Wheel where their spin could win a prize up to a maximum value of $5000 for their club.

The FTGCC is also given naming rights to one of the 12 races of the day. These races are broadcast and advertised nationally in many different forms of media and will give plenty of exposure. The club is going to award the naming rights of this race to the individual/business/sponsor who makes the largest bid between now and the closing date for bids (to be announced at a later date). Bids for naming rights to the race are to be given to Dean Glare (0424 068 163). From time to time I will give an update on what amount the leading bid is and who has made the bid. So bid early and bid often as they say in the classics.
